INCOLA Soundproof Piping Systems

Test reference standards for the installation plan are EN 14366 and DIN 4109, which provide
                measurement methods and results evaluation.

The test building is a perfect soundproof room made of a material that possesses high-quality
sound absorption feature with thick walls.

It is an actual building with four floors of 3.05m inner height. Two floors, depicted as EG and
                                                                  2
UG, are reference floors separated by a 220 kg/m concrete wall with a wastewater column
within for the purpose of noise measurement.

Two rooms are designated for measurement: the front room where the test pipeline is installed,
and the rear room where there is no pipeline installation. The latter takes in the vibrations and
                                                                                           3
transmits sounds through the concrete wall. The rear room measures 70.4m in volume and
                    2
                                                                            3
23m in surface area, whereas the front room measures 52.6m in volume and 17m in surface
                                                                                                2
area. The test pipeline consists of VESBO INCOLA Pipes with an external diameter of 110mm
                and related fittings.
VESBO INCOLA acoustic clamps and sliding clamps that absorb the standard noise are
used in the installation. Noise in the wastewater system depends on the water flow speed.
Noise measurements by volumetric flow are as follows:

                1. Q=0,5 l/s
                2. Q=1,0 l/s

                3. Q=2,0 l/s
                4. Q=4,0 l/s

Measurements are done in the front room located behind the installation wall. Sound pressure
levels are measured and converted from 5 kHz to 100 Hz octave-by-octave.
