3.2. EN 13501-1 Fire Classication of Construction Products and
Building Elements - Classication Using Data from Reaction to
Fire Tests

This standard determines the fire classification procedure for building elements and all other
products and is directly related to the SBI (Single Burning Item) test applied in EN-13823 + A1
(fire response tests for building products).

This European Standard covers the processes of classifying the behavior of all building
products against flame, including products used in conjunction with building elements. The
products are taken into consideration with regards to their end use. In this standard, building
products are considered in three different groups.
· Construction products, excluding floorings and linear pipe thermal insulation products;
· Floorings;
· Linear pipe thermal insulation products.
