5.12 Fixing at VESBO INCOLA Soundproof Piping Systems
5.12.1 Roles of Pipe Clamps
Clamps are used not only for support but also for insulation of
structural noise in piping systems:
• Fixing and supporting the sewage system
• Acoustic decoupling from the building by an elastomer
intermediate layer (rubber cushioning)
Different from standard commercial clamps, VESBO Acoustic
double pipe clamps (for pipe support and fixation) possess
optimized acoustic feature and have been tested to be capable of
controlling and reducing noises.
• Spacing between the clamps shall not exceed 10 times the pipe outer diameter in
horizontally installed pipes and 15 times in vertically installed pipes.
• Vertically installed pipes should be fixed with clamps after they are connected to each other
to prevent gliding.
• Pipe clamps and fittings must be installed in such a way that they do not prevent
expansion (Sliding clamps should be used).

Figure 18: Installation of VESBO Acoustic Clamps
The following actions should be performed in the listed order to install the clamps:
1. Fixing clamp should be placed in such a way that it covers the pipe.
2. Connection of fixing clamp and pipe are done.
3. Pipe support clamp is fixed to the installation wall.
4. The support clamp is placed in such a way that it comes into contact with all surfaces of the
fixing clamp, but also not in contact with the pipe.
5. Connection of pipe and clamps are done.
