Soundproof Piping Systems
Suggestions for Working in a Well-Organized Manner and in Compliance with the Rules
• Suitable working clothes should be used and the working area should be tidy.
• Implements should be picked according to the work.
• Necessary safety measures should be taken in working area.
Criteria of Installation
• If the pipes need to be shortened, the pipe cutting process referred to in Section 5.2.1 must
be followed.
• No load should be placed on the pipe to prevent elliptical deformation on the pipe
• Pipes should be cut perpendicular to the pipe axis (90°).
• It should be checked after cutting, whether there is a fracture in the cut area.
• For easy assembly of cut ends, chamfering (15 °) should be done on the pipe ends.
• Burrs formed on the pipe ends after cutting should be taken with the burr cleaning apparatus
or snap blade knife referred to in Section 5.2.2.
• Muff and plug ends of pipes and fittings should be cleaned from dirt and oil.
• The connection parts should not be fully interconnected, and a 10 mm gap should be left in
between.
• The pipe fixing clamp should be fixed to the pipe just below the connection point in the
vertical line.
• The support clamp should be placed under the fixing clamp.
• Pipe support clamps should be used with a maximum interval of 2m for the safety of the
installation.
• A 5 meter high and “U” shaped leakage test device should be prepared.
• The system must pass the leakage test under 0.5 bar pressure for 15 minutes.
