Various efforts have been made to reduce sound absorption in wastewater/drainage pipes. Often, insulated pipes or insulation walls are used; however, this translates into extra material costs for manufacturers in addition to extra labor costs.

Traditionally, based on simple and traditional measurement criteria, the thicker and heavier the pipe, the more difficult it is to vibrate and as a result, the less noise it may generate. Today, VESBO has made it possible to reduce vibrations and consequently physical noises in buildings to minimal levels with the introduction of three-layered pipes with special additives. Incolene, a mineral reinforced raw material, minimizes noise generation with its significantly high density and wall thickness.

VESBO INCOLA Pipes complies with the performance tests of EN 1451-1 (Plastic Piping Systems for soil and waste discharge low and high temperature, within the building structure – Polypropylene (PP) – Part 1: Specifications for pipes, fittings and the system) with SN4, SN8 and SN12 load carrying capacity.

VESBO PP-R pipes and fittings are manufactured from high quality, Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PP-R Type 3) resins. Its physical and chemical properties make VESBO a versatile piping system in a wide range of applications in different industries.

The advantages compared to other thermoplastic pipes in potable water industries are its high impact strength and high pressure resistance at high temperatures during long-term internal hoop stress.

Under normal working pressures and conditions, the average service life of VESBO pipes is projected to be 50 years warranty or more.

Examples

VESBO PP-R SDR 11 cold water pipe, transporting water at a temperature of 20°C is projected to last more than 100 years under normal operating conditions with an operating pressure of 12.5 bar.

VESBO PP-R SDR 6 hot water pipe, transporting water at a temperature of 70°C is projected to last more than 50

years under normal operating conditions with an operating pressure of 8.5 bar.

VESBO PPR Pipes can be used in compressed air installations and other industrial applications.

For visible piping works that need aesthetic attention, proper support intervals are necessary. This will prevent unsightly but common “snaking” or sagging found in plastic pipe systems.

VESBO products are produced with UV stabilizers. However, like all other Piping Systems including metal pipe works, VESBO products should not be exposed to direct sunlight without insulation or protection against sunlight or UV radiation. For applications where constant UV exposure is expected, VESBO UV pipes should be used. For prolonged lifespan, a protective paint in black or a jacket is recommended

VESBO pipes and fittings comply with and are classified under the requirements of the following fire classifications:

• Class B2 according to DIN 4102
• Class E according to EN13501-1+A1

Under such classifications, it is normally inflammable and is capable of resisting, for a short period, a small flame attack without substantial flame spread.

In case of a fire outbreak of temperatures above 800°C, under ideal conditions and with sufficient oxygen, only carbon dioxide and water vapor are produced as the raw material of Polypropylene Random Copolymer is of a hydrocarbon chain. Toxic fumes or dioxin will not be emitted.

Standard Dimension Ratio (SDR) is a method of rating a pipe’s durability against pressure. The standard dimension ratio describes the correlation between the pipe dimension and the thickness of the pipe wall.
